Mastering the Pullup
Morning!
Do YOU crave morning enjoyment and tons of never-ending excitement, all within the space of 10 seconds or so?
If so, you certainly want to meet one of my favorite exercises, the pullup!
After months of working out, I can achieve 3 (count ‘em, 3!) pullups. And let me tell you, I’m thrilled beyond belief regarding that….when I first started at 170-odd pounds on a 5′3.5" frame, I was pulling up against an 80 pound offset (ie, lifting 90 pounds or so of weight via my arms).
While pullups can be difficult (especially for women), they’re really an awesome type of exercise to incorporate. Here are some of my favorite resources about them:
I really like the Back/Chest pullup section of P90x - it has you do wide-grip pullups, half/half pullups, chinups and the like. Great stuff!

Are you doing pullups? It doesn’t matter if you can only lift 5 pounds of your own body weight - just starting on your journey is a really good thing.
Enjoy,
Barbara
ps - speaking about pullups, have you seen pullup bars like:
