Embracing Kettlebells (you know you want to!)
Have you ever had an insane urge to add kettlebells to your workout regime? You know, those spheriod doo-dads that have a huge handle by which you can swing them all over the place (ideally not letting go)?
Kettlebells are great conditioning tools! What I like myself about them is that it feels like more muscles are being engaged than by using dumbbells (I can turn my wrist easier during swings/flys/etc.). I’ll show you where to get kettlebells for a discount at the end of the post.

Perfect Pushups - The REAL story

Okay, blame it on the fact I’ve only recently started watching infomercials again…but imagine my surprise when I saw that Tony Horton, he of the most magnificent P90x fame, has a new program - 10 Minute Trainer! (true, it’s not new, it was released last year, but like I said…I’m slow. :) )

Billy Blanks Bio and Taebo
I’ll confess - I *adore* Billy Blanks and his wonderful workout called Taebo. Here’s why.
True, it’s not real martial arts (I do Goju-ryu karate, so I know the difference) but! Many of the exercises he shows does build great muscle memory as well as really cause you to work up a sweat.

10 Killer Resources for Rock Hard Abs
So you’ve been hitting the gym and pumping iron and realize that yes indeed…your abs, they need juuuuust a wee bit more encouragement to amaze and astonish the entire world.
Well! I have news for you.
Your ability to show off your rock-hard abs is dependent upon the lovely, ahem, covering of fat that might still be hanging around on your tummy. Once that’s gone, you can indulge in execises to toughen and chisel ‘em up…but until that point, you have to focus on your overall fat loss on your body.

5 Crucial Free Weights Free Sites
One of the most optimal ways I’ve found over the years to keep myself in an optimal state of fitness is free weights.
Now, don’t get me wrong - I do enjoy the Cybex goodies I find at my local Y too! However, free weights allow you to target all sorts of muscle groups while sitting in virtually the same position (thus eliminating the need for several machines to accomplish the goals of one).
Free weights sites on the Internet come and go…but here are some definite keepers.
- Exercise and Muscle Directory - plain but great, lots of great animated images to quickly show you how to do specific weight lifting.

Free fitness journals or diaries online
One of the best ways to keep your fitness and/or dieting journey on pace and in step is to write down your successes, your failures, your wishes, your goals…and to see how others support you as well.
I found such things to be extremely useful myself - whenever I’d run into a plateau or learned how to achieve one! whole! magnificent! pullup by myself etc., it was great to share it with like-minded individuals as well.
