Embracing Kettlebells (you know you want to!)

Have you ever had an insane urge to add kettlebells to your workout regime?  You know, those spheriod doo-dads that have a huge handle by which you can swing them all over the place (ideally not letting go)?

Kettlebells are great conditioning tools!  What I like myself about them is that it feels like more muscles are being engaged than by using dumbbells (I can turn my wrist easier during swings/flys/etc.). I’ll show you where to get kettlebells for a discount at the end of the post.

But let’s first get to the good stuff!

There are lots of useful Kettlebell exercises you can find online for free, plus great resources you can incorporate for more intensive trainings.  Check out:

Kettlebells can be used by both men and women.  Sure, it takes time to develop coordination and the like for some of the more swingining exercises, but it’s definitely worth exploring.  For example, check out:

Now, let’s say you’re entranced and want to score some kettlebells for yourself.  First, you can network at your local Freecycle and ask if anyone has any they no longer use.  I’ve received quite a lot of exercise equipment in this fashion.
