Free WeightsOne of the most optimal ways I’ve found over the years to keep myself in an optimal state of fitness is free weights.

Now, don’t get me wrong - I do enjoy the Cybex goodies I find at my local Y too!  However, free weights allow you to target all sorts of muscle groups while sitting in virtually the same position (thus eliminating the need for several machines to accomplish the goals of one).

Free weights sites on the Internet come and go…but here are some definite keepers.

The best thing about free weights, surpassed only by body weight training, is you can use them just about anyplace you’d like (assuming you can lug them too and fro  :)  ). 

If you’re interested in fitness, I’d definitely suggest incorporating free weights into your training.  Your body will thank you for it!
