Sinful Thoughts - To Hell With Fitness!

SIN!Got you there with that title, eh?  :)

Actually, it’s not quite "to hell with fitness" - it’s more like:

"When you feel like a cupcake that has just challenged an 18-wheeler to a Chicken contest, you should really give your body permission to rest and heal."

In other words, I am sicker than a dog!  Well, actually, my moosies have yet to show an off-day (‘course, MooseMinor DOES regularly chow down on socks that he (like clockwork) upchucks when it makes the most impression - I was actually able to wrestle his latest treasure BEFORE it disappeared into his gullet)….how ’bout instead:

  • Sicker than a person with…the flu!
  • Sicker than a politiican who….had to tell the truth!
  • Sicker than a mom who just finished mopping up the bathroom after her 4 kids used it as a (use your imagination!)
  • Sicker than…

I’m hopeful you get the point.  I’ve been up since 1am (not my choice!  My nose is running faster than the NYC marathon!) and the nasal backdrip at my throat could literally dissolve plutonium.  So!

Guess what I did?

Prior to collapsing in a heap, I bought Easy ClickMate to power up my affiliate program!

But before THAT….

I finished sending out my weekly ezine to my thousands of readers!

But before THAT….

I drove to Pathmark and indulged in SIN!  SIN SINSIN!   YES!  I DID IT!  I…..BOUGHT…….BUTTERSCOTCH BAKING CHIPS!

Believe it or not, that’s my comfort food I reserve for when I’m down for the count.  I remember when I was a child, I’d always have these tasty morsels as a treat…and wow, did I love love LOVE ‘em!

And here’s the best part:

I do NOT feel guilty whatsoever.

I’m NOT exercising today, I’m NOT lifting weights today, I’m NOT eating healthy today (well actually, my food source will be beef soup augmented with butterscotch chips)…I’m giving myself permission to just let myself rest and heal.

Can you believe that?  :)

For me, this is a true indication of how great my lifestyle change has been over the past 2 years.  I’m still holding my own between 126 and 130 pounds, having shed 50+ of those beasties…and have no problems babying myself with comfort food/laziness when my body screams ENOUGH!.

Let me tell you, THAT is liberating indeed.

Now, when I do return to the land of the living, I will certainly resume my good eating habits and exercising joys.  But for now, my bed, my TV, my Animal Planet shows and most importantly, my butterscotch chips call.

And like the call of nature, that’s ONE call I do NOT plan on missing.  :)

Stay healthy,

Barbara Ling

I hope you start feeling better soon, but with the way you push yourself when you are working out, and for that matter when you’re working, I’m surprised you haven’t worn yourself out earlier. :-)
